Our Story

A Black Girl in Her Feelings was birthed while I was working as a school social worker and preparing for counseling sessions with my students. As I created SEL worksheets, I wanted to be intentional about Black girls seeing themselves reflected in the resources they were using—seeing themselves acknowledge their emotions, process their experiences, and learn how to operate in purpose. What began as a desire to create affirming resources for Black girls soon grew into something bigger. A Black Girl in Her Feelings evolved into an emotional wellness community creating resources, experiences, and spaces that support Black girls and women as they feel, process, and grow. We believe Black girls and women deserve spaces where they can show up fully, understand themselves deeply, and develop the emotional tools needed to live with intention and purpose.
